| Pipex set to disolve | | Pipex has released an Investor update relating to the state of its business and its ongoing changes.
It confirms that its 570,000 broadband/voice customers have been sold to Tiscali for £210 million. Leaving its WIMAX and hosting divisions. although, it has announced that WIMAX "no longer provides a compelling strategic fit".
This has led to further speculation of the breakup of what remains of the group. With the WIMAX licence expected to be sold shortly followed by the hosting/domains businesses later in the year.
The hosting division had revenues of £35.8 and make a profit of £17.3million in the year ending 3th June. | Kent TV goes live | | Bob Geldof`s production company, Ten Alps has launched the UK`s first local authority funded TV station - KentTV.
The two year contract is worth £1.6million a year and aims to bring a mixture of local features, information and council listings with the Kent News local newspaper provides news headlines. Sir Bob was joined by Paul Carter, Nigel Dacre managing director of Ten Alps, and Tanya Oliver, KCCýýýs head of strategic development unit, on Friday at Maidstone Studios for the official launch.
